New Installation of Windows XP Home = Problems...

Post by marky985 »

O.k. So here is the deal. Re-installed Windows XP Home, now I'm having some problems. My biggest concern is that I cannot get the Task Manager to open and stay open. It will pop up, and then close real quick. Otherwise, computer freezes up when trying to set thigns in the Control Panel (i.e. Add/Remove programs will not open up). Also can't get Mcafee to install. Specs are: 1.6 mhz processor; 512 Ram; 80 gig hard drive...partitioned into 2 parts. Let me know if you need any more info. I cannot figure out why, after installing everything new, its giving me problems like this. Is there anyway I can reinstall everything? I have no clue what to do. Thanks for you help!

When you reinstalled did you do so on a reformatted hard drive or just reinstalled over a damaged O/S ?
If I could remember all I have forgotten, I would be a smart man.
