Again, I'm not sure if this is the correct forum, but i think it is. This question has
always bugged me and it's really a newb question.. Well, when downloading with any connection, dial up comes to mind, why does the transfer always stick around 3-5kb/s? I mean is it somthing to do with bandwidth, server latency? Thanks

The server is the bottleneck, not you.

U both wrong, dial up is 56k meaning 56 Kilobits per second. Your download screen is showing Kilobytes per second, so having 56k is equivalent to about 7 Kilobytes per second. now whats really funny is AOL charges 24usd i think, the cheapest DSL about 1.5 Megabits is just as much, but a million times better.

But he says "any connection."
Unless if when he said "3-5kb/s," he was talking about 56K only.
