Wireless keyboard hangs

Hi,

I bought my father a brandnew computer (2.6 Mhz - P4, 512 MB RAM, 80 GB HD). Everything alright until installing the Microsoft Wireless Multimedia Keyboard 1.1. Sometimes it works for a couple of minutes, but then, all of a sudden, the computer hangs when you push a button. Sometimes it also hangs straight after starting up. I then have to restart the computer in order to be able to work with it again.
I have installed the latest drivers, which I downloaded from the Microsoft site (5.2). The keyboard is being recognized and shows no conflicts in the hardware list under My Computer, although I had to install the drivers twice: in the beginning the keyboard was not in the hardware list. Of course I removed the drivers, before installing them again.

Now only the MS Wireless Optical Mouse works. The keyboard is his old wired keyboard. Any idea of what I could do to help my old man out?

I dont know much but I can give a few possible problems... both your wireless products should have a station... they could be running on the same frequency... or your keyboard recepticle station is too close to any other electronics... if it's close to anything there could be some interference in the signal. Or maybe you just need to fully charge the keyboard... or get new batteries or whatever it is
