Discuss, but do not get off topic. This is a thread about this anti-Kerry documentary. Rip it to pieces or praise it, but do not get off topic! And it is not off topic to compare or contrast it to Fahrenheit 9/11.

My personal opinion:
The documentary itself does not have any sort of commentator per se. All that is shown are facts, quotes, and videos about Senator Kerry's position on the Iraq war. That is not to say that the clips and quotes weren't carefully picked and chosen to make Kerry look bad. Kerry used the Iraq war as a way to make himself look good to voters.

This is a very interesting video, and there are certainly points in it that point out some of Kerry's weaknesses. But hell, even I was convinced Iraq had nukes before the war. I was convinced that Iraq was terrorist state. But it wasn't. Now it is.

To display video of his arguments before 9/11 is to spin his intentions. No one can say that the vague threats across the world held a candle to the threats we are now facing. Bush promised many things before 9/11 which he never followed through on, which in some cases is understandable. Bush is the guy that promised not to 'nation-build', people.

But I digress. Can we argee that Iraq was a mistake? Can we agree that we did no good there and that it is worse off now than ever before?

Even as the war becomes worse in the last 2 weeks than it has been since it's beginnning, we recieve absolutely no news on it. More people have died in Iraq in a day than Hurricane Ivan has taken since it's creation. Most people probably don't even know that, because if they did this shit would be a real election issue. Why do we debate what happened before the war when what we really need is a cohesive, intelligent plan for Iraq?

The only reason this war isn't on the front pages every day is because of our amazing technology and kevlar vests, which (thankfully) save the lives of our soldiers every single day. It bothers me that because our boys aren't dying the way they would in say, 1969, we aren't focusing on this war the way we should. This war will continue as long as we aren't discussing ways for it to END. So, in short, shut the fuck up about the past (Both Candidates) grow some balls and deal with the goddamn truth.

I haven't seen Farenheight, but was it like that clip we saw with Kerry showing him on various news channels with bush saying what he said in that moive or was Farenheight a whole bunch of clips that were taken but not from a news channel
