Home wired for Stereo...How do I hook up the computer to it?

Just wondering how I can hook up my home computer to enable it to power all the speakers set up in my house. The wiring panel is in one room and my computer in another. Is it possible to connect the two so that all my music plays from my computer into the speakers that have been wired throughout the house? Any place I can do some reading on this?
