This isn't funny anymore - Sound Card this time

Okay, so yesterday I noticed that my computer wasnt playing any sound anymore. I did the usual volume check and made sure that the speakers were plugged in, which they were. This has happened to me a couple times before; the computer gets confused and a restart will normally sort it out again. I restarted, but that did no good. Today I updated the driver but that did nothing either. I don't know what else to do. Save me!! I need music!

My soundcard was built in with my motherboard. dxdiag tells me its an Nvidia nForce.

P.S. also my computer seems to be generally a bit slow. This is unusual because I have 1024MB of Kingston Hyper-X. I may just be imagining things, but could these be related?

Thanks for reading. I have to figure out a way to shorten these. :)

For the soundcard, reinstall the drivers and see what happends..

As for the slowness, I would either disable some programs loaded into the memory at startup, or just do a fresh reformat...

Fixed it

Thanks for your suggestions; somehow got it fixed through my meddlings. Maybe it's time I learned how to fix my own problems and start helping other people here...
