NVIDIA nForce MCP problems

I have a big problem. I'm trying to connect to the internet by using ethernet instead of USB.
I got all the drivers for my ethernet card and everything is looking great.

But then I get this crap about having limited to no connectivity. I try to repair this by clicking "Repair."
After about 5 minutes it says that it cannot fix the problem because it cannot renew my IP address.

I tryed releasing and renewing my IP address by using the IPCONFIG commands. Again, no luck. I got this error message:

" An error occurred while renewing interface Local Area Connection 2 : unable to contact your DHCP server. Request has timed out."

And now I'm here asking for help.
If anyone can help it would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

If i am correct, are you trying to connect to the internet through a LAN Card? It sounds as though you are, but I can't really make out what has happened... :?

do you assign your lan settings dynamically or is it static, if you assign them dynamically, do you have a dhcp server?

Dynamically, and yes I do have a DHCP server. I guess I should admit that my issue is not exactly the same as the first post but more just an issue with the same card. I'm trying to set up a wireless desktop and keep getting a message on the wireless side that the "connection has been ended by the remote desktop". When I disable the LAN connection, the connection times out without connecting. I've checked all potential firewall issues and anything else I could think of but not knowing much about networks, I can't tell if there's anything wierd or fixable here.
