My computer died: Access my desktop files from other CPU?

So my computer is pretty much useless now, except the hard drive is fine. A friend has my hard drive attached as a slave to his computer, and we can access all the files except stuff that's in "My Documents" or on my desktop, which is the same thing I guess. It doesn't give us the administrative privelages to access these. How can I get to these files? As you might guess, some of my most important files are in this folder. Any help would be appreciated. I was running Windows XP, and my friend has XP Pro.

Plug what into his computer? I already have my harddrive connected to his computer. I can access everything except "My Documents". As I said, the rest of my computer is basically unusable.
anyone?

You should be able to access the files unless they were encrypted, what error message does it give you?

When we try to open the My Documents folder it says something about "you do not have administrative privelege to access these files", something like that. I sure didn't encrypt anything on purpose.

the user that you are logged in as, is that an administrator?

Well that sort of seems to be the problem. We can't log in as an administrator for my hard drive. If we knew how to do that I think that would solve the problem.
