Ive been on wireless for 5/6months now, and receintly ive been getting disconnected for no reason whatsoever! ... Ive noticed it disconnects when i try download things, or if i play an online game on my other pc.

The hardware im using is a Linksys Wireless-G ADSL/Router (WAG54G). Ive got 1 laptop(wireless) and 1 pc(wired) connected to the router.

This hapens out of the blue, I can be surfing forums for 30mins, and all of a suden it disconnects me... And then it takes either a reboot of the router.. Or playing the waiting game... untill the router decides to let my laptop reconnect to it.. and its getting very anoying,

i allmost threw a cup at my router... So before i do that.. I thought i should ask for some help!!! :) hehe

It could either be my router.. or my laptop(its 1month old, toshiba centrino, satelite)

any advice is helpfull... including if you think i should throw this cup at it.... !!!

Thanks =)

update the firmware for the router

does the router get very hot?

try running with the rouer right next to the laptop, does it give you problems then?

I have updated the firmware few weeks ago.. didnt make a slight bit of diference tho :cry: ... & My laptop is right next to router(about 2yrds away).

Last night i connected it to the wired LAN, and it hasnt disconnected me since(left it on overnite to check).

I would say the router got warm... not exactly hot.

I will try moving my router(as its right next to a wall?) And adjusting the antenna :lol:
