I am a college student, and my cellphone has become a necessity for me to be able to reach people. Also, I don't need two different phones, so I'm not gonna be getting a home phone line, anytime soon.

However, every high speed internet provider I've talked to (Yahoo DSL, Verizon, etc.), says that they can't provide me high speed internet service unless I have a home phone line. I don't want to get a home phone line, and I hate having to go to school everytime I want to use a fast internet line.

Does anyone know of a internet provider that doesn't require you to have a phone number (just a phone jack) in order to get high speed internet???

not possible, you have to run the dsl through a land line to get high speed internet, your only other alternative is either satelite or cable

cable will give you much better performance in games, both are equally good on download speeds

I've seen that they are trying to run dsl type links over lines not requiring a phone number. still probably costs money though, not to mention its not available to the public
