cox cable faster with network card or usb

I'm using the Motorolla Surfboard modem. I wonder if I connect it via usb or network, the internet will be faster. Does it matter?

It should be the same speed, however I do recomend using the ethernet

So network card is better.
. I have used it before and now I'm using usb. I kinda feel the difference.
