CD Drive won't play

Hi, My CD/RW drive won't play non-store-bought CD's (i.e., burned music and data discs). And sometimes it won't even play store-bought CDs and software. It reads them as if they were blank CDs. The drive is: Samsung CDRW/DVD. I have a Dell Inspiron. I called Dell tech support. And their advice of uninstalling the Secondary IDE Channel didn't work. Any help would be very much appreciated. This is very frustrating.

First I recommend that you have any CD\DVD on the secondary IDE channel, and if the only one set as master. Now is this a new drive you just installed, or an older one. Will this drive read a disk that you wrote with this drive, If not it maybe you need to replace this drive.
