desktop wallpaper disabled ????

hey i have got a problem with my desktop i can't change the background nomore not with the desktopsettings the problem is that the desktopsetting are disabled i can't click on none of those settings also i can't use my rightmouse when i click on the right button noting shows up! it could be a virus but i have tried norton 2005,adware se ,hijack this , spyware doctor. also there are no security settings on me pc it's just win XP pro but i had a problem with my desktop background it was changed into a red screen with a message from smartsecurity but that's gone anyone now whats wrong? big respect and thanx for anyone how knows

locate the following registry key: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\System delete the entry that lists a desktopWallpaper - most likely desktop.html (or .htm) You also need to run a full spyware and virus scan (get rid of spysherrif, nail.exe etc) and delete any .vbs files residing on the root of C:/
