im using intel 3e processor on intel d865perl motherboard. can somebody tell me what does sytem 1 zone and system 2 zone means. can somebody also tell me what is the ideal temperature of my processor. because when i startup my computer, my cpu temperature is 60C, system zone1 temp is 40 and system zone2 temp is 40. after using it for 1 hour it rises to 60-70c, 48C and 48C respectively. are these temperatures normal? if somebody can help me ill very much appreciate it.

If you have the Pentium 4 3.0E CPU, then you are going to experience very high temps. These CPUs are based off of a poorly designed Prescott core. Intel failed at reducing power requirements when they switched from 130nm to 90nm. These temperatures you are experiencing do hurt your CPU's lifetime. I recommend the use of Artic Silver and a large copper heatsink (preferably from Thermalright or Zalman) with a large fan (92mm or 120mm, whatever fits inside your case) that can blow much air.

Other steps include getting a large case with at least 2 120mm fans (1 intake and 1 outtake). The normal temps of all CPUs under 100% load is between 50C and 55C. 55-60C is acceptable, but the user should be cautioned. At 60C and above, the CPU could start breaking apart. The damage normally just lowers performance, stability, and lifetime. System zone temps, the case temp, should be below 40C. PWMs should be below 45C.

my cpu temperature rises up very quickly when i'm doing a task for example converting video files or playing games. INTEL ACTIVE MONITOR always makes warning that says cpu temperature rises to more than 60-70, system zone 1 rises to above 40 while system zone 2 also gives warning temperature almost rising to 50C. only system zone 1 doesnt give warnings. what could be the problem? is my cpu or motherboard fake? is my power supply damage? i can't seem to solve the problem my complete specs intel 3egig processor d865perl mobo 1 gig pc400 ddr 2 sata disk geforce4ti 4200 128mb ddr 8xagp liteon cdrw 300 watts atx power supply
