Living in Los Angeles, in about feburary it's already in blazing hot temperatures. So, as you might expect, my computer completely melts. I wanna know what to cool it down with, since pointing two fans at it just doesn't seam to work and i've got alot of work to do over the summer. Can some of you point me to the right direction? (Note: I've only got around $20 to spare)

Sorry to say, Noodle.. but your $20 budget isn't going to get you very far at all. Any heatsink combo that's worth a darn with cost more than that all by itself. If you are thinking of replacing the heatsink, I would highly recommend that you also use a better (aftermarket) thermal compound. Many times computers that are built at local stores or by companies like Dell, Gateway etc, all use a cheap (generic) Silicone based thermal compound. These compounds are very ineffective at doing their required task. I use Artic Silver 5 exclusively in all of my computers (4 at home), and also will use nothing but for any computer I built for a customer or friend. Simply replacing the thermal compound could make a difference of 10+ degrees. I know you said your budget was $20, and I feel for ya dude (4 kids, 2 dogs.. not the greatest job in the world).. But, if you want to remedy your temperature problems in LA, you will most likely have to put an air conditioner in the room with the PC, or go Water cooled, $199 is a lot more than the $20 you said you had to spend, but I don't see you spending that $20 on anything that will improve your temps. The truely $hitty part of your problem is.. you most likely need to cool more than just your CPU (video card is most likely a must also, Zalman can handle both) Artic Silver 5 is about $10 Zalmans Reserator (water cooler) is $199 Air Conditioner at Wal-Mart .. $80 (and prolly your cheapest solution, for the entire system... and you get to enjoy it too !) GL man, heat issues suck. been there, done that
