if i don't wiggle or move my mouse at least every 10 seconds, the mouse just freezes on the spot and i cant' do anything else on the computer until i restart it. i can't even use the tab button to move around my screen. if anyone knows what's wrong or what i can do, it would be amazing. i have the worst habit now of stopping in the middle of my eveyday business just to give things a little wiggle, it's sooooo annoying. Thanks so much!

10 seconds? This gives you enough time to correct the problem and walk out of the room and turn right around to go back to the computer. Is the computer going into hybernation mode? So tell it not to. Go into control panel and make sure nothing will turn off automatically. (youll find this in the power options)make sure the values are set to "never">. After that-right click your descktop-select screen saver, and make sure "none" is selected. Now nothing will turn off. Not even the mouse.

nope, not hybernating..

I checked out the power options and they all said 'never' already. see when my mouse freezes up, everything on the screen is still running, or so it seems from any moving advertisments on a page. any other thoughts, i REALLY appreciate your help.

ok some extra thoughts. Take the mouse appart and clean it-get another mouse-use a PS2 mouse- make sure the connection in the back of the computer is secure. A mouse uses a very simple set of instructions from your bios. Windows doesnt even need or require specific drivers for a mouse, Unless you are using a non PS2 mouse. (a mouse that connects to a parallel port or USB port. )Hope this helps ya out.
