I'm not sure if I have chosen the right topic but, When I am starting XP, an error message appears and tells that the system has recovered from a serious error. And it does not request that Microsoft be informed. :? I am only allowed to have more information about the error and there is only a close button. When I press close, the system restarts. The only way I can use my computer is to live with that error message window on the screen. And the computer works way too slow. The error signature is: BCCode : 24 BCP1 : 001902FE BCP2 : EC04D094 BCP3 : EC04CD90 BCP4 : F858E7B6 OSVer : 5_1_2600 SP : 2_0 Product : 256_1 Can it be because of a program I have installed lately? And how do I fix my computer and get rid of this recurring error message window?

First how long has this been happening? You state it may be something you installed. Have you tried to do a system restore, say a few weeks back. Try the restore see if it helps. You look under tools.

I have uninstalled the new program instead of trying system restore. Error-checking (Local disk properties) and automatic fixing helped. And after a defragmentation my computer seems to be working well :D By the way, thanks for your concern.
