Well to start off, you need to know what you have installed now, PC2100,PC2700,PC3200, ect. How many sticks are installed, how many open slots do you have. Do you know the make of the motherboard? To find compatable ram you have to know this, if not you may fry what you have, and what you just bought. You must buy ram that is compatable to what you have installed or upgrade to say 2 sticks of 512mb to get up to 1gb.
