HEy i was recieving an error on my dell and i contacted them and they couldnt fix it so they are sending a technician to install a new hard drive. If i do this will all my programs be lost( itUNES gAMES aol mozilla etc) ???? Also if i reinstall WIndows XP will i loose all programs?????

You will get a hard drive just like when the computer was new, if you have important files back up or lose them

Unfortunately, if you reinstall Windows or install a new drive, all your data will be lost. But there's the way to keep it. When I bought a new HDD, I had to transfer all information from my old HDD, because I didn't want to lose anything. And I use hard drive cloning software. I create clone of my old HDD, make a bootable CD (it takes reasonable among of space due to highest level of compression) and restore it onto new on, so I could safe all data and apps. If your HDD is still able to work, you may do the same way.
