Whenever I open my Internet Explorer I get a search bar at the bottom of my screen and i cant get it to go away, it has a close button in the corner but it doesnt work and there is no way to get rid of it, I think its been installed from some spyware from a site called
http://www.lop.com but im not sure. Ive tried looking all the usual places these things install themselves but its not showing up anywhere. Any help to get rid of it would be greatly appreciated as its driving me mad.

Have you scanned with AdAware or Spybot this may help you. both are free and you can run them in safe mode to try and isolate the spyware. Check in control panel too add/remove programs see if you can remove from there.
I also found this and it may help you too.....
How do I uninstall one of your software products?
There are several methods available to you should you wish to uninstall any of our software products you had previously chosen to install:
- You can go to your Start Menu--Control Panel, then choose the 'Add / Remove Programs' option. Depending on which version of the software you have installed locate 'Lop.com' or 'LOP SEARCH' or 'Window Searching' or ‘'Window Active' or "Browser Enhancer" or "Ultimate Browser Enhancer" or "Search Plugin" from the menu to run the uninstaller.
- Depending on your version You may also be able to locate a globe type icon in the bottom right hand corner of your screen (near the clock), right click on it then click Menu. From the main menu you will see a help button on the top right hand corner. Click the help button then choose 'uninstall'.
- Additionally a separate universal uninstall program may be downloaded here
- If you are still having problems please email
[email protected] for assistance.

Ive tried scanning with spybot and ad-aware already, they dont pick anything up, i also tried with norton to see if thatd work but it didnt. I searched all the files on my pc for the word lop and deleted all the files it found that were associated with it and that didnt work. I also searched the Add/Remove programs list for all those names and none showed up, there werent even any names in the list i didnt recognize that could have been the program. I went on the lop site last night and tried the uninstaller but when i click on the link i get a popup box that says my current security settings do not allow this file to be downloaded. I tried lowering my internet security setting from the internet options toolbar but even on the lowest setting it still wont work. Last time i had a problem with this site installing software on my pc i emailed the help address and got no reply, but ill try again anyway. Any other suggestions? Has anyone else had problems with this site installing things or is it just me?
