Hi guys - I've troughled the web (is that a word?) and can't find anything about this at all and I'm going mad....
I bought a MS Optical wireless set (comfort edition) and am having a nightmare with it.
What I get is the following
every so often the mouse pointer sticks on the screen for a second then catches up....
but the keyboard is mad - it will be fine for a few minutes then it will act like it's held a key down and fill the line with the same letter and if I delete it it will delete everything I wrote.
Then once in a while the whole thing hangs and won't work including the mouse and I have to reset the machine.
I've tried everything and it's also the second one I've had as the first one was even worse.
I can't find anywhere that details this and the MS site is not very helpfull either.
Help me computerbb your my only hope.

<--- Uses nothing but wired inputs

Let's start with the obvious problems.
1) Replaces the batteries with Duracell or Energizer quality cells.
2) Make sure the sensors, or pickup devices are visually free of obstructions.
3) Distance between the Mouse/Keyboard and the remote sensor(s)? This shouldn't be more than 10-15 ft, max.
4) Other wireless devies in the home/office, if so are they operating ok?
5) Did you install the drivers for the devices from the CD that came with it? Did you check MS for updates?
6) Have you done
Window Updates?
Those would be the first things I would check. I would also try uninstalling both the mouse and the keyboard. And installing them after a reboot with the most current drivers from MS.
Let me know if any of this helps.. or you've already
been there, done that.

I'll look into it while I wait for your reply

I think that's the best way to go - wires even though a pain you can trust them

Batteries were brand new although I may try a set of duracell.
The sensor was behind the monitor at first but I pulled it forward so nothing obstructed it.
Just downloaded an update for .net not sure if that will do anything but will give it another go now.
I'll try moving the sensor further away as well as it was less than 10 inches from the keyboard.
Also I have a desk fan about a foot away not sure if that would interfere
I'll try removing the keyboard and mouse software too and restart everything

Thanks for helping me Sumpin I appreciate it

Well I installed the updates and reinstalled the drivers etc and so far so good the receptor is hanging up on the wall about 2 feet away and none of the problems have come back yet

well new it was too good to be true - it's now telling me the mouse battery is low and needs to be replaced after I just put brand new duracell in it

Think I might just take the whole set back and stick with wires.

Sorry ro hear that the wireless set didn't straighten up for ya.
And, as you said.. Ya can't go wrong witha wired setup. I've had a few friends who had wireless and they had nothing but problems. Not one friend of mine has ever stuff with wireless for more than a couple weeks.
Hope it all works out for ya ok, good luck!

(Desk fan could have played a part in electrical interferance. Receptor being 10 inches away wasn't helong either, 4 or more feet is optimal)
