I somehow seemed to have deleted my CD drive. When I go into My computer I can't click on the CD drive to access the CD. Any ideas on how to fix this or get it back?

You cant delete your cdrom drive.. make sure two cables are fastend securly into the cdrom drive inside the case, and that those two cables are also fastend securly at the other end.

do you have that easy CD creator 5 program (it is a CD-burning package) that coms with windows (depending on if you bought it from Dell, Compaq etc..)? I had the same problem and was told not to use that program, I don't know how to get it back though, just saying that that might be the cause....

Tebows right you can delete a CD rom drive, check when you boot up do you see it in the POST? If not check the BIOS setup, did it get changed, you must have it set for auto detect for both channels. If they are good and you don't see it on the post , it's either cables or a bad CD rom itself

I found something else on the topic.
http://www.theeldergeek.com/restore_mis ... _drive.htm I have not tried this yet and have no idea if it will work so use it at your own risk. If you do then backup the registry first and you should probably use it only as a last resort if nothing else has worked.....
