hello, i hope you guys can help me. my computer won't start all i get is a blinking light in the back of the power supply. this had happened to me before so what i did was that i changed my power cord. the light was still blinking but after an hour or so it stop blinking and was working well. recently i opened my computer because my computer was freezing too much so i bought the compressed air to clean the inside of my computer. then i hooked it up, but the light from my power supply starting blinking again. i let it sit for more than an hour, just thinking that maybe something needed to get charged before it worked, but the light is still blinking i also left it overnight but nothing happens. i am not sure what is wrong, i was thinking that maybe i need a new power supply, or the compressed air that i used to clean my computer might have damaged something. or maybe something else is wrong. please help me? thank you for your time my computer is a compaq.

so when you take out your power supply the light starts blinking. cause thats what i did i took out the power supply removed connections and the connected the power supply to the wall outlet power and the light was turned on completely.

The compressed air wouldn't harm anything, I would check to make sure that you didn't knock any cables loose. Push each connector gently to make sure it's seated, check the ram too. The computer freezing is most likely due to virus or spywear that you have got on the hard drive. For the most part power supplies don't have lights on them, exception are high end one's and then they have lighted fans. When you try and boot up, do you see/ hear anything? You should hear the hard drives and a case fan starting first. If you think it's is a bad power supply the are not too hard to replace, just a few screws, and dissconnecting a few cables. Make sure you remember how you dissconnected the cables, and if you have a older computer it may have a 20 pin connector, P4's have a 24 pin connector. When it boots up do a virus scan, then get AdAware and run it, it's a free program. If you are still haveing problems let us know
