Ok, i have a amd 900mhz comupter, im tryin to hook it up for my mom but i have encountered a problem. I have it as my hard drive as primary master, and cd rom as primary slave, on ide1. When i go to install windows on the hard drive, or when i try to get into my bios when the hard drive is connected, it wont let me use the keyboard, none of the buttons seem to work, but when i unconnect the hard drive, the keyboard works and i can hit delete and get into my bios ect. Lol so when it says hit any key boot up from cd i can do it but it doesnt detect a hard drive because there isnt once connected, so i cant add windows to any hard drive. The problem is that when it says hit any key to boot up from cd, i cant hit it bc the keyboard wont work then when hard drive is connected. Ive tried 4 different hard drives, and ive also tried 2 different 40 pin ribbon cables, i and different configurations of the hard drive and the cd rom drive, but nothing seems to work. Does anybody have any ideas?

If you have another hard drive try that, you might check the BIOS too, connect only the hard drive and see what happens, try a new ribbon cable to the hard drive if you have one
