Hi all, I just purchased myself a nice little system, and was wondering what I need to do about cooling! These parts are literally all I have; 2 x Crucial 512mb DDR 333MHz PC2700 Memory Module 1 x AMD Athlon XP3200+ Socket A 512 L2 Cache Barton CPU - OEM 1 x Connect3d ATI Radeon 9550 256MB DDR TV-Out DVI 128 Bit 1 x Abit NF7-S VER 2.0 nForce2 SKT A 400DDR 8xAGP SATA 5.1 Sound LAN 1 x Antler PC-326 (3 in 1) ATX Middle Tower Case with P4 350W PSU 1 x Wireless Keyboard + Mouse + 11-1 Card Reader 1 x Gigabyte B5232A 52x32x52x16 CD-RW COMBO Internal IDE 1 x Seagate ST3160023A 160GB 7200rpm 8mb Cache Barracuda 7200.7 Plus - OEM The case came with a small fan at the back. I doubt this is enough for the entire pc... What parts need cooling and how should I do it? Thanks for any help x

you need a heatsink and fann for the cpu I would fill up all the fan spots in your case with fans that move at least 30cfm

May I suggest these fans. They are the most efficient fans I have ever seen. 28CFM for only 14 dBA for the 80mm.

I have a heatsink and fan for my CPU now. The case came with a small fan at the rear. DO I need to buy something like this for my graphics card? And what exactly should I get to cool my bios? Is that really neccessary? Thanks again ps. PC loans cost £100 a minute ;)

All video cards come with a standard heatsink/fan or just heatsink. Don't worry about your video card. And as for the BIOS, you never need to cool that. That is one of the coolest components in computers.

The BIOS is a small chip that doesn't use alot of power, it can be run from the nicad battery installed on the motherboard. Video cards that use heatsinks really don't need fans.

:? The most effective way I've found to cool towers is to have the input fans in front and output in back, then I guess it compliments the ps fan, maybe. Who knows, the only thing that matters is my system never goes above 110F, so the setup must work good.
