Well I have a Dell Dimension 3000(with windows XP) that i got about a year ago and it came with mcafee even though I asked for no anti virus protection because I have norton. Well anyways I’ve been lazy and haven’t uninstalled mcafee and installed norton but now that the free trail for mcafee is over i went to uninstall it and couldn't. I tried to uninstall it thought the add/remove software part of the computer but it did not work does anyone know how to completely uninstall mcafee so I can install norton

Check the disks you got with you're Dell, see if you can find McAfee on it and reinstall. After you get this done you can go to C:\programs\McAfee\ and find Uninstall.exe. If this doesn't work let me know.

yes delete it all the registry keep info of all programs installed or your machine ncluding how many trial days you have left on a program. don't ever touch it if you don't know what your doing.
