Liteon LDW-411s Review Part 2
First, lets look at Liteon's LDW-411s under the microscope with "Nero InfoTool"

As you can see, the only unsupported read feature of the LDW-811s is DVD-RAM. The LDW-811s cannot wite DVD-RAM or Mount Rainer.

If you pay close attention, you will see that the region protection for the LDW-811s has been removed. I will post an article in the Optical Drives Section explaining how to remove region protection on all Liteon DVD drives.

Liteon LDW-411s Review Part 3

If you plan on using your Liteon LDW-811s for data backup, you can count on reliable data backup. Out of all the data dvd's I've written, none of them have had problems with any DVD drive. I have tested this with many types of media.

However, If you want to use your Liteon LDW-811s DVD Burner to "backup" movies, this is another beast. The most important factor in backing up DVD movies with the Liteon LDW-411s is the media used. You may have heard many complaints about the Liteon LDW-811s drive, but these are not true. 95% of these problems are the result of user error and nothing wrong with the drive. Every DVD Movie I have backed up with the Liteon LDW-811s DVD burner has worked flawlessly. Liteon LDW-811s Review Part 4

Liteon LDW-811s Overall Impressions:
Overall, I would recomend the Liteon LDW-811s to anyone who is interested in a low cost, high quality DVD Burner. It is a fast burner based of DVD burn standards and produces high quality burns. Liteon DVD drives are the only ones that I am aware that the Region Protection can be removed.

All in all, I give the Liteon LDW-811s 4 out of 5 stars

Pros:
Fast
Supports +/- R/RW
Creates high quality burns
Allows Region protection to be disabled
Inexpensive

Cons:
Some users may expiernce initial problems with this drive
Does Not Support Mount Rainer or DVD-RAM
