Hello My emergency is that I have no desktop! When I start my computer, everything runs normally until the Windows XP welcome screen shows up. After that, all I see is my wallpaper with my cursor. That's all. There are no desktop icons or start menu, there's also no system clock at the bottom right hand corner and there is no taskbar! Please help me because I cannot do anything on my computer. Thank you.

Try going into task manager (by doing a ctrl+alt+del) and then clicking "file" then "new task" and type in "explorer.exe" (no quotes) and hit "ok".. If that happens to work it seems as though your original shell registry keys have been either edited or removed. Partieâ„¢
