Global Warming

Just finished writing this for english class, I figured, why not post it
Over the last century, the average temperate, precipitation, and ocean levels have risen. The levels of carbon dioxide have increased. This phenomenon is known as Global Warming. This is a natural process. Global Warming is the sum of ninety-eight percent nature and two percent humans.
The measurable effects of Global Warming started a century ago. Over the last century, the average land surface temperature increased one degree Fahrenheit. Precipitation increased one percent. The sea level rose eight inches. These trends are not mainly because of humans, but are the result of nature.
As the world matures, it acquires more people. These people increase the levels of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere. These increased levels of carbon dioxide cause a layer of insulation to form, which heats up the earth. This allows for plants to grow. Since plants use carbon dioxide, they flourish. The increased temperatures also cause the oceans to expand. There exist theories that El Nino has become more frequent and intense because of Global Warming. There are steps that the government is using to top Global Warming.
Contrary to what the press says, Global Warming is not bad. A small increase in average temperatures every year will not likely cause widespread bacterial infestation. Nor will it cause the icecaps to melt. However, the politics of Global Warming is a hot debate. (Excuse the pun.) Since the Clinton administration, the United States along with other nations have tried to lower the carbon dioxide emissions. The United States agreed to a seven percent reduction of carbon dioxide emissions from its 1990 state. This goal is targeted for 2012. It involves restrictions on energy use and increased taxes.
Overall, there is no point in trying to stop Global Warming. Since the cause of Global Warming is only two percent human (claimed by http://www.globalwarming.org) there is very little we can do to stop it. The efforts by governments to stop Global Warming have been publicity stunts. Global Warming is not bad because it promotes plant life. Global Warming will not melt ice caps or help with the spread of bacteria.
