Cooler Master customer service...

I've mentioned it before on the forums that I own a Wavemaster case, from Cooler Master. The case is made with extraordinary craftsmanship and strong regard to detail.

I bought the case back in mid february of 2004, and within three weeks the two blue LED's on the front of the case stopped working, so I wrote a brief email to customer service @ Cooler Master and described the small problem I was having. They never replied.

I figured my email was overlooked in the mass of mail they prolly get, so I wrote another email, this time stating at the beginning of the letter.. and in the subject line.. Second email about problem w/ Wavemaster case.. still no reply.

After not getting any reply whatsoever, I managed to get the local MicroCenter to give me a phone number for Cooler Master, and I placed the call. The call was very brief, and rather rude. I told the gentleman who answered the phone what my problem was, and as soon as he figured out what was about to become of our coversation he said, and i qoute...
Sir, Cooler Master does not deal directly with the public.. please contact your local dealer if you need assistance.
C L I C K ... went the phone. The sorry mofo hung up on me !!!

The sole purpose of that call was was to find out what voltage LED was needed to replace it. I wasn't calling to ask them to send me a new case, or to buy me dinner at Red Lobster because my LED's went on the fritz.

This Wavemaster case IS the last Cooler Master product I'll ever buy. I have absolutely no complaints at all about the way the thing is made, it is a gorgeous case.

You would think $169 for a case (w/o pwr supply) the LED's might last longer than 3 weeks, and I would surely think the company who made it would stand behind their product and not direct you to the middle man... or atleast give you the common curtousy to talk to you on the phone.

Sounds like a pathetic company. "We do not not deal directly with the public.. please contact your local dealer if you need assistance." lol

Sorry to hear that. :(
I haven't bought any Cooler Master products, and I don't think I'll start.

About the voltage of the LED, it may tell you in your motherboard manual because the LED does plug into the motherboard.

Well that just blows up my day.
I was thinking of getting the new Cooler Master Aquagate since it was internal or the Hyper 6. Well, I guess some other company will have to do. Maybe Thermaltake? :(

They don't plug onto the mobo. The two LED's on the front get power directly from the power supply via a Molex connector. I busted out the voltmeter and took a trip to Radio Shack to buy replacements. (5.0v by the way)

The only thing I'd buy from Coolermaster is this case, or any other case. Not too many things can go wrong with the structure of an all aluminum case. I was thinking about by the Cool Drive 4 .. but it has an LCD screen, several buttons and an array of 7 colored LED's, I think I'll try and find another HDD cooler that is almost as cool :x

Nope, it doesn't.

The HDD, reset, pwr and other normal switches plug onto the mobo.. but the 2 LEDs are powered directly from the PSU. I'd guess because they are @ constant on, and do not flicker with any activities or actions.

Oh PSU leds.. I thought you meant the HDD LED ect...lol

I was thinking of saving up for that case to mod.. I am not now! Thanks!
I am now getting a chieftec case and I am going to remod the whole thing.. I will post pictures..

P.S. -- Anyone want to donate to my case fund :)

Uh, Lian-Li would be a better use of your money.

Don't get me wrong guys.. this is an absolutely beautiful case, and I would buy another tomorrow (to house my wifes puter).. Other than the LED's that I ran into problems with, I can't forsee anything else wrong with this case.

The entire case is aluminum, every inch of it. There is not one sharp edge, or any burrs to be found. The craftsmanship and quality is superb!

I checked out the Lian-Li cases before I purchased this one, and from what I saw in the stores (physically).. the Wavemaster is a much better made case. In my opinion anyway.

I would highly recommend this case to you, aswell as any of my relatives.

LED's @ Radio Shack.. $1.19 each, and about 3 minutes to solder them onto the leads.

Bottom line.. buy the case, you won't be unhappy. I promise.

When you compared the cases, did you compare them against the Lian-Li PC-V1000/1200/2000/1100/2100 series?

I would think these cases would be top of the line.
