But in times when the people in your neigborhood wiht cable are using your itnernet, your speeds drop.

that is with 3 comps, in my house connected to internet with one running a game, the other playing a cartoonetwork game, 2 aim's up, 1 msn messenger up. that pretty good, plus the chances are the other person in my neighborhood is using his cable right now. Oh and this comp is 6 years old, December 97. so that will slow even more, i think.

Make sure to distinguish between KB (KILOBYTES) which is most commonly used for file size,
and Kb (KILObits) which is most commonly used for transfer speeds, There are 8 bits in one byte I believe.
and the same goes for MEGABYTES AND MEGAbits, or any other form
So 8Mb Downstream would be the same as 1MB downstream.
