AMD sold 65,000 Opterons last year. But things are changing this year. Q104 managed to sell 70,000 Opterons. And that is just 1/4 of the year. The reason? "A four-way Opteron server costs less than $30,000 and delivers nearly twice the performance of an eight-way RISC system priced at more than $150,000." So you pay 5x less for 2x the performance. That is a 10x difference.

I don't know. The data just shows how much Opteron has picked up.
