ok, im thinking about building and buying this computer for roughly 2.2k
Athlon Fx53
1 GB corsair RAM
80 gigabyte Hd
latest radeon card, dont know which it is
19 inch crt moniter view sonic i think
etc, etc.
This would be the first computer i build and i wondering: Am I capable of starting out with this high powered system?
Another question: If the case i buy comes with 4 fans, do i still need to add fans to the cpu and graphics card? (i will not OC, as i dont know how)?
Yeah im a newb
Also, anyone know of a step- by - step guide to building one, for a complete newb?

YEs, you need to buy a heatsink(it should come with the cpu) the Graphics card already has a heatsink for its gpu.. I woul recommend that you purchase they Nvidia Geforce 6800 Ultra.. I also suggest that your flatscreen should be from either Viewsonic or Sony.. Buy the Corsair XMS series 1gb pc 3200

First off, you need a decent case... I suggest you get the Chieftec Dragon Blue Case. Then, you need to install your motherboard, (The motherboard should come with instructions and parts to put the mobo on. Then, you need to install the Processor.. You must be very carefull when you install the processor to prevent bending any pins. Then install the graphics card in the AGP slot, and any other peripherals in the PCI slots. Then attach your harddrive and cdrom.. It is recommended that you purchase a SATA HD and a Lite-on Cd-RW cd-writer. Then, connect the case sound and lights ect. like the motherboard manual tells you to do.. Then, boot from a Windows XP pro disk and install it.. Anyone help me if I missed something

NEC/Mitsubishi makes the best CRTs and LCDs.
CRTs are around $100 and LCDs are around $300.
Looks like you have a very nice CPU. Make sure you get the 939 pin version in order that you don't have to get expensive registered RAM. According to tests, that Athlon 64 FX-53 is the fastest desktop CPU.
I would recommend Lian-Li cases. If you can't get that, Antec has the next best thing, then Cooler Master. As for power supplies, Enermax is top, then Antec's TRUEs. For Socket 939, Gigabyte has a nice nForce 3 Ultra motherboard that you can get at NewEgg. Try to get Thermalright heatsinks unless if you want to go a little extreme with water cooling or try Thermaltake's FanLess103 paired with a 120mm case fan.
Corsair makes the best RAM that you can buy. It is fast, but most important, high quality. Western Digital Raptors are fast, but RAID only gives up to a 30% performance increase.

nVidia is the way to go if you want one step ahead in graphic quality. ATI is the way to go if you want one step ahead in graphic performance.
Your system looks very nice and I am sure you will have a great time building it. I know I did when I built mine the Christmas of 2002.
If you need help, we at ComputerBB can walk you through it.
