well i'm visiting my aunt for a little while, (my home computer is Windows 98) and hers is windows 2000/NT and basically her computer is not protected and problems have started to arise on her computer. now my problems are that some programs (resulting from spyware and viruses) are on my computer now and i can't delete them so what i need to do is take them off of start up so they wont startup when windows starts up. BUT when i go to start<run<msconfig. an error message comes up saying,
"Cannot find the file 'msconfig' (of one of it's components). Make sure the path and file name are correct and that all required libraries are available."
i do not know why it is doing this and going through Run and typing in msconfig is the only way i i know how to get to the startup menu where i can select which programs i want to start up with wiindows and which ones i do not want to start up. does anyone know what the problem is or how i can resolve this.
And also just recently when i start the computer up, it stops right at my backround and wont load my desktop up. it just stays there with the hour glass as my curor. Now i went to task manager (via CTRL+ALT+Delete) and found out that this one thing called 8pgflr.exe keeps popping up and then dissapearing ect. so what i have to do now just to get my desktop to load up is log off and then log back on as the same name just to get the dektop to load. I try to end the process on task manager for this file but right when i do it shows up again...now i really don't know what to do with any of this. i have ran a virus scan and delete many viruses (although some of the files could not be deleted) but i'm still having problems can anyone help me?

Thank you very much in advance :(

Try running the repair option on your Windows cd and see if msconfig works again.

Also, do a google for 8pgflr.exe and see what it is.

msconfig I believe was taken off of Windows 2000.. You have to download the file.. Search google for it

You have viruses and spyware, google for free online virus scan and remove the viruses from your system, then download spybot and ad-aware, update and run those, then install windows over itself without making a windows backup.
