Slow internet speeds. Please help!

Post by aff501 »

I have broadband internet and lately it has been running almost slower than dial-up. A website said the problem may be spyware so I downloaded a spyware remover from Lavasoft. I ran the scan and deleted the spyware it found. However my internet is still as slow as it was. Also my firewall is turned off and i cant turn it back on. What sould I do?

Download and run the folling programs, ADaware, Ccleaner. try and run in safemode by pressing F8 on start up, after you do this download Hijack this install into a new folder, run and post you're log here.
If I could remember all I have forgotten, I would be a smart man.

I've got the same problem . . I recently was hooked up with cable lite, at an 80 kb/s line, and everything was fine, until today, it suddenly started going slow . . I've downloaded many anti-spyware programs and scanned with many different antiviruses, resetted my modem, and computer multiple times, and i've still got an average of 4 kb/s. Anyone who can help me, thank you very much!

You should run a test first, slow speeds are mostly ISP related, use this link and check you're speed. http://www.speakeasy.net/speedtest/
