Digital voice recorder

Post by passport4fun »

Hi all! This is my first post here, so I hope I get all the info to you the first time around! I have an Olympus VN-240PC voice recorder that I purchased last spring. It's meant to be able to hook up to my computer so I can download data and it came with an installer disk. Well, I haven't used it until just recently and misplaced the disk. It shouldn't have been a problem, and I went to their site and downloaded the info from there. It shouldn't have been a problem, but it seems to be. My computer won't recognize the new hardware without a disk to put in and I'm getting frustrated. My computer is an HP zv5260 laptop. It runs XP home and has an Athlon 64 processor. Does anyone have any ideas about how to get around this problem? Thanks in advance! passport4fun

Hello! Are you shure that driver wich you diwnload is correct? Also it mihgt be a problem with connection, I had some such prob with my camera. So first try to connect with Olympus support, and try to connect to another PC. Have a good deal.

Ok, well I don't know what the deal was, but it's working now. I plugged it in and went through the install wizard and this time it "took". It took a couple tries before it would download the data from the recorder too, so I'm stumped, but at least it's working now. Thanks so much and I'll keep this place bookmarked for any future computer glitches! ~passport4fun
