SATA hitachi hard drive

I just reformatted my master hard drive. Now, I am not sure how to get windows to recognize my slave SATA harddrive. it is not showing up in disk management. :oops: :cry: :(

on the back of the hard drive there is to little white plasric strips arange them in the're respective slave slots using the key bit of paper stuck next to the panel. :D any other problems pm me

I would check to make sure you have SATA support enabled in the BIOS, do this first. If you don't know how post the motherboard make / model and BIOS make verision. There ARE NO jumper setting on SATA drives, please get the facts right before giving advice. Incorrect advice can mess other peoples computers up.

Also make sure you have it pluged into the right spot, check the motherboard documentation on this, some can have 8 different places. Here is an example of SATA install instructions, they will differ with computer makers/ BIOS http://america.giga-byte.com/MotherBoar ... 3132_e.pdf
