Win XP Startup help

Post by hexacious »

I am currently trying to fix my little brothers laptop. It was running Windows XP Professional. He can't seem to remember what he did to it to stop it from working, but here is what is happening. When I power the laptop up it starts to load windows and goes to check disc, as if it wasnt shut down correctly. If you let the check disc run through then it hangs after a minute. If you stop the check disc it also hangs. I have tried going into safe mode, and every other option on that menu yet still no results. Have also tried booting it from the XP disc, no results with that either. I would GREATLY appreciate if anyone could help me out with this issue.

This link should help you on the boot problem http://support.microsoft.com/default.as ... -us;314503
If I could remember all I have forgotten, I would be a smart man.
