Motherboard blew, Please help

Post by freezingsatan »

I sold an Emachines T2042 motherboard to someone which was working perfectly before I sent it, and they just messaged me when they connected it, they heard a "pop" noise and the motherboard doesn't work anymore. You can find the motherboard here: http://parts.emachines.com/emachines/mo ... t_id=68915 Here is what he says "The cd came with the board. Did you test this board ? The reason I am asking it did not post, in fact it popped the moment the power came on." What do you think happened with this board? Please answer, Thanks, Julien

The "pop" was probably a capacitor. When they go they usually blow the end off, and it "pops". If this is the problem, the only solution is to replace the broken capacitor. This meaning.. find the broken one, solder a new one in it's place.
