problem starting computer. no post

i had this computer for almost 2 years with nothing wrong with it. but then yesturday it kinda restarted on its own without displaying any thing on the monitor but the HD and fans are running. disconnected the PS for a few minute and its turned back on, its working fine. then it happened again but disconnecting the PS didnt make it work again. i reseat everything on the motherboard and turned it on. when i enter something on the keyboard it would freeze. i try it again, but the screen display froze with the static look like when you have a dirty nitendo game. now my computer doesnt display anything at all but the fan and HD are working. MSI motherboard P4 2.4 512 pc2700 DDR 333 80g HD 320 watt PS any more info just ask.. thank you

when it restarts, are you playing a game or using much of the systems resources, or does it just turn off without user intervention

yea when it first restarted i was running adobe photoshop.
