FTP problem

Post by bamboum »

HI! I cannot use any FTP software. It seems that there is a blocking at the stage just after IP recognizing of any of my FTP servers. All was working before....... I have tried without Norton antivirus and without ZoneAlarm.... My Win XP firewall is disabled... If you have some solution without install again of TCPIP protocol...

I forget other informations. I have installed TypeSoft server with recognyzing IP with NO-IP. That is working. At the beginning I was thinking that my problem come from this reason. Desinstalling TypeSoft has not changed any thing. Now I have also some interesting points in the following 1) If I use my FTP programme to go to no-ip server, I finally see my typesoft site and all seems working. Question: do you think that I was out, then come back in my computer or do you think that I read directly my hard disk? 2) I have Tcpview.... It seems to say that Iwas out then back because I see out port and in port used.... 3) With Tcpview, I see that on the contrary my ftp programme is waiting in syn-sent before to close after some seconds. In this time it found IP adress of the server then waiting then stop. That seems an interesting problem to solve..... I can use my laptop instead of the desk machine, but .........

I am very happy as I found the good solution..... Also I am not so happy for this monolog.... 1) Yes I can see my disk and I was out then comming back on my server TypeSoft 2) I found a good solution on another site. And my FTP is working! SOLUTION: Go to Norton Antivirus 2005 - Click "Options" -- Click "Internet Worm Protection" --- Click "Program Control" ---- Add a new program, and search for the program "alg.exe". It can be found in the folder c:\windows\system32\ You now have added the entry "Microsoft Application Layer Gateway Service". It should be configured as "Automatic". This is what fixed the problem for me. RIGHT!
