Messed up windows

Post by elithemaple »

I recently installed a webcam on my computer (logitech quickcam: messenger.) even when the cam isn't in use whenever i minimize or maximize the window it goes extremely slow and the top bar flashes by all laggy. this shouldn't be happening, i have a 2.8 ghz p4 computer, 1 gb of ram, radeon 9550 video card, 80 gb of space, like...my computer isn't a piece of crap, why does it seem as though this webcam cannot be supported well? is there something i can do? help would be appreciated.

Un install the software/device Does you're computer now run normal? Check the amount of resources used with/without how much difference? Are you useing USB 2, check the drivers, make sure you are up to date

It seems to be running fine now (after a restart) If it messes up again though I will do what you suggested, thanks.

Nevermind, it just needed a few minutes to give me hope, then laugh when it knocked that hope aside. What an evil computer, but anyways, above I have a post about my control panel, I cannot check my USB settings without going to the control panel, and I cannot un-install the software since it is not a star menu option. If there are any more suggestions I'd love to hear them.

Why can't you get to the control panel?

when I click on it, it just says that windows encountered an error then gives me the option to inform them, it's really wierd.

Try rebooting the computer in safe mode F8 and see if you can get to control panel. You might want to update virus signatures and do a compleat scan, run AdAware scan . Get HiJack This, download and put into a folder HiJack This. Run and save scan then post the scan here.

Just a possibility (not sure it will work though) Open up the 'run' box (win + R) and type in 'appwiz.cpl' without the quotes. Maybe you'd find your driver/software in there.
