CPU socket pin bent...

I was about to install my Pentium D 830 on an LGA775 socket (this processor doesn't have any pins, it has little areas where the socket's pins come into contact). Anyway, i noticed one of them was bent a little, so using a needle i put it back into place, and to me it seemed pretty well aligned with the rest of them. If that particular pin is not in contact with the processor what would be the consequences? Would the computer turn on at all? Would it run slower? If it could help, i attached a picture of roughly where the bent pin was located. (red dot = pin)

Chances are if it doesn't make contact the processor will not function, I hope you eyes are good.

Heheh they're good enough at close range :p I was seing double with all those 775 pins heh. The computer turns on and CPU temperature is at 60°C when Idle. I was just curious since my computer was running a bit slow (the hard disks are empty...i have 400+GB or space so i don't think the problem comes from there and i have 512Mb of DDR2 PC4300 ram. The mouse icon had a real low framerate and it had trouble playing a song

Yes they would drive anyone blind , so many pins in such a small space. Intel does have a few utilities to run some checks, you can try them. To really be sure, you would have to have a schematic and special test tools. Here's the link. http://downloadfinder.intel.com/scripts ... Intel.aspx

Heh i was reading a review on socket 775 it said to be very careful when installing it, infact Intel even recomends you dont touch the bottom of the processor with your fingers Heh just htought i would let you know
