Did your Windows XP change its login?

Post by ccb056 »

Did your Windows XP change it's login process? Are you required to click your username everytime you boot up your computer? Have you just recently updated? Do you want to fix the problem?

The solution is simple. If you just updated your computer through "Microsoft's Windows Update" and you are running "Windows XP" you probably are experiencing this "problem". First of all, the reason behind this is that during one of the updates, Microsoft decided to add a <b>hidden user account</b> without your knowing about it. Why this is, I am not sure, but I will show you how to get rid of "ASP.NET Machine".

First, go into the "Start Menu"->"Settings"->"Control Panel"->"User Accounts", and remove "MS.NET ASP Machine"

This should solve your login problems for Windows XP.

I already removed that username. Still no luck. Any other ideas?

In windows XP, if you do not use the "Welcome Screen" then you will have to hit ok to finish loading windows. Open Control Panel, go to "Change the way user log on" choose Use "Welcome Screen"

Also, Guest Account should be off. Your not using a password are you? (Just had to ask) ;)
