Error ripping DVD's

Post by Guest »

I get the following error when attempting to rip certain DVD's. I've ripped a couple of dozen DVD's so far with no problem. However with certain DVD's(League of x gentlemen, pirates of the carribean, XXX) it fails. And it fails at the same file each time. I have the latest firmware revision for the LDW-411S (FSOJ). I have another DVD-ROM drive in another computer that I tried it on and it ripped just fine. Anyone have any ideas why this is happening and maybe how to fix it.

I/O Error!

it looks like a certain area of the disc is damaged and then unreadable

or it could be some sort of copy protection that thries to make the drive think a section of the disc is unreadable

either way, if you use "dvd decrypter" you will be able to skip that sector and continue ripping the rest of the disc
