Alternative to Html?

Html has become very incoherent with the addition of CSS and other new technologies, so I was thinking maybe we could start working on an alternative.

My idea would be to have an xml formatted language with a new set of tag names and attributes that is better for websites.

Xml doesn't really have a formatting schema ... yet.
