Windows XP SP2

Post by Smartweb »

I have a pre-release version of XP SP2 and here's what's new:

- Internet Explorer has new popup blocking feature that works better than other Browsers' popup blocking because when you right click on the icon in the status bar, you have an extra option called Show Blocked Popup. The annoying then about IE's version is it shows a stupid bar at the top that says it blocked a popup for you. That's just taking up space and shouldnt' be there.

- Outlook Express doesn't download images from emails until you tell it to. This is like Outlook 2003.

- There is a new Security Center program in the control panel that centralizes the options for the much enhanced Windows Firewall, Automatic Updates, and Virus protection. Windows does not contain any anti-Virus software, it just tells you if you have Norton or something installed.

- Windows was a little slower starting up for me. I hope that's just because it was the first time I booted it after installing SP2.
