NASA's new X-43A can make this possible.
With a test flight of Mach 7 (5K MPH), this aircraft broke the record set in 1967 last night.
Its design features bringing in O2 for flight as it goes instead of carrying it.
Of course this requires a rocket to first allow it to gain enough speed.
All in all, it is one fast piece of tin foil.
