Speed up FireFox
Speed up FireFox
1. Type "about:config" in the adress field.
2. Set the value of network.http.pipelining to "true".
3. Set the value of network.http.pipelining.maxrequests to "100".
4. Set the value of network.http.proxy.pipelining to "true"
5. Set the value of nglayout.initialpaint.delay to "0"
Now watch as the loading times that already beat IE's go into overkill mode.

Does this value need to be changed if you're not using a proxy?ccb056 wrote: 4. Set the value of network.http.proxy.pipelining to "true"

The line "nglayout.initialpaint.delay" does not exist, this string has to be created manually. What I would like to know, is what "type" it is -- Integer, Boolean, or String.
Thanks for the speedup tips!

EDIT: It's OK, I found out I need to use Integer.
Can anyone tell me how to delete an entry though?

firefox
The nglayoutinitialpaint.delay sits just above the nglayout.widget.mode in version 0.9.2, at least it is in mine.
The changes made my copy load about twice as fast. Great tip. Thanks.

Speed up Firefox.
I was told about the following http://forums.mozillazine.org/viewtopic ... 15&start=0 on the firefox forum. Some of the settings may be of help, some have already been posted on this thread.
how do i create a string manually?ninjastyle wrote:The line "nglayout.initialpaint.delay" does not exist, this string has to be created manually. What I would like to know, is what "type" it is -- Integer, Boolean, or String.

Possible Downside...
Possible downside of having this... I have tried downloading files using this tweak and on a number of sites I got the " Could not download. To many connections from your address" also some servers might treat it as a DOS attack. I mean 100 connections for the same file in a atter of seconds frm the same ip comon? Thats a bit silly for 1 webpage which usually load quite fast anyway if you have a fast PC and are on broadband. You are jumping from 4 connections to 100, I would think the max you would want to go is 25. Try 25 and see if it really makes a difference.
