Why XBOX is better than PS2
This is an ongoing argument throught the gaming world and I thought I should put my two cents in..
First, XBOX has a faster processor than the PS2, which enables faster and richer graphics. Second, XBOX features a better video card(Geforce3 I believe) that produces sharper graphics than the one in the PS2. I have heard of people using the XBOX card for their own computer card. XBOX live is only available for broadband users, making sure there is no lag in the game because of lame 56k dailup modems(found in the ps2). The next XBOX will be using 64bit processing which will blow PS out of the water... Well, thats all I have to say, lets start a discussioN!

Why XBox is NOT better than PS2
While it may be true that XBox has supperior hardware than PS2, but that alone does not constitute making it the better system. XBox has only a small handful of good games. PS2 on the other hand has several several great, exclusive games. Final Fantasy, Gran Turismo, the Xenosaga's and many more I cannt think of. PS2 just has superior software and a greater backing of 3rd psrty developers.
Except for my RPG's, i say PC is far supperior to all

XBox is better than PS2, that's for sure. PS2 doesn't even come out with good games anymore, and XBox simply has a better infrastructure for Online gaming. As for PC, many console gamers dont have the commitment to maintain a system capable of games like Far Cry.

Personally I like GC (GameCube) the best, but this is betweeen PS2 and XBOX. I would prefer XBOX due to its awsome ass online gaming and the games for it are decent which makes it even better. The onlyl online games i would play would be mostly racing games so XBOX to me is better.

Xbox has great games
I don't know what would make someone think that Xbox doesn't have any good games; because there are plenty of them. Oh, so PS2 has more games than Xbox does? Who cares!? What good does having even a million games do if most of them are crap? Xbox has more than enough great games for most people, who probably don't plan on buying hundreds of games even if they are good. Here are a few examples of great games available on Xbox:
(the obvious) Halo
Project Gotham racing 1&2
Crimson Skies: High road to revenge
Splinter Cell 1&2
Ghost recon
Ghost Recon: Island thunder
Amped: freestyle snowboarding
GTA 3&Vice city
Ninja Gaiden
Rallisport challenge
Madden NFL 2004
ESPN NHL Hockey 2K4
Prince of Persia: Sands of time
Knights of the Old Republic
Soon to be released (likely to be good) games:
Halo 2
Battlefield: Modern Cobat
Star Wars: Republic Commando
Call of Duty: Finest Hour
Ghost Recon 2
The list goes on; and with EA going live, next year should turn out some pretty sweet games.
Sure, these games aren't all Xbox exclusive. Admittedly, most of them are not. The point is, the fact that the Xbox has better hardware is undisputable; and if you can play these games on any console, why not make it the one that is the most powerful?
I hear a lot of people arguing that everyone should just play games on their PC. The truth is that yes, a PC can be more powerful than any game console. Well that works out just fine, if you have over $1000 to shell out for a new computer every 2 years. Most gamers don't have that kind of money. They are left with the more affordable option of a gaming console. I fall into this category; and I chose Xbox. I don't regret it today, and I never will.
Here's some extra proof for you from gamespot's top 100 list:

Notice how six of the top ten rated games are for Xbox?
and yes, I am very passionate on this subject. What gave me away? My ramblings? Oh well, as long as I'm right.
I am right. Remember that.

I agree with you totally, And have to add the Xbox live is just about the best thing out there. Also, The games for consoles are made for the specific console. **except multiplatform games where almost as a rule the graphics and controls suck. But The games are tailored to push the max out of the Xbox. But with a PC, You will always be behind the technology and graphics capabilities of the games unless you are upgrading.Suvorov wrote:XBox is better than PS2, that's for sure. Re: Why XBOX is better than PS2
This coming from a fanboy of the company that has been brainwashing people into the "mhz myth" for years. The xbox has a 733mhz celeron. The PS2 is Capable of 6.4gflops. I believe the average computer only does 1-4. The Emotion engine is also the first 128bit cpu(versus xbox's 32bit), which allows for greater bandwidth, as wide as 2560bits. Dont take me for a PS2 fanboy though, I am just stating the facts.I personally like Xbox better than PS2. The ps2 controllers suck, the graphics usually blow, the PS2 console has waaaay more design flaws than almost any other console, and it loads really slowly.Tebow2000 wrote: First, XBOX has a faster processor than the PS2, which enables faster and richer graphics.
EDIT: oh btw, PS2 also has 2 emotion engines. forgot about that.
The GPU the xbox has is known as the NV2A, a cross between a geforce 3 and FX, I believe.Tebow2000 wrote:XBOX features a better video card(Geforce3 I believe)
